Location is no barrier. Sydney-based Studio Neon is completely mobile, travels Australia-wide and internationally and will rise to any challenge – from far-flung outback settings to glittering reception rooms. As a gold-licenced catering business, we handle the logistics of floor staff, beverage service, liquor licencing and more – right down to the supply of quality glassware from our sponsor, Riedel.

who we are.
Internationally renowned chef Aaron Teece is the talent behind Studio Neon Catering. Born and raised in the Northern Rivers near Byron Bay, he spent the formative years of his career in Brisbane. Feeling the lure of London, he travelled to expand his knowledge and build his résumé.
After a long stint at London’s prestigious Harvey Nichols’ 5th Floor Restaurant, Aaron turned to the private chef path. Employed by Lady Margaret Thatcher in her retirement years, he was privileged to serve the Queen on several occasions. He also cooked for many UK celebrities, among them Kate Moss and Keira Knightley.
On his return to Australia, Aaron was welcomed into some of Sydney’s finest establishments, including Astral, Sean’s Kitchen, EST., Felix and Manly Pavilion. He eventually set up his own business, Studio Neon, an eclectic warehouse space that functioned as a photo studio and corporate events space by day and chic dining venue by night. A pioneer of the foraged food movement in Australia, he swiftly became the go-to chef for food education workshops and tours.
That business has morphed into Studio Neon Catering, operating from a purpose-built state-of-the-art kitchen facility in Sydney. He fields requests for his services not only Australia-wide but from the UK, Europe, New Zealand and exotic Pacific resorts. His corporate clients include Grey Goose Vodka, Louis Vuitton, Channel 7, Qantas and Tourism Australia.
Lauren MacDougall is an Events Organiser, Producer & Hospitality Consultant specialising in the hospitality and lifestyle industries. Lauren established her career as an acclaimed events and marketing specialist, producing and managing high-profile events across Australia and the Asia Pacific.
Lauren is renowned for her creativity, attention to detail, and working closely with clients to create unique, carefully curated events and services with maximum impact to exceed expectations. Lauren lays claim to a host of reputable hospitality clients including Keystone Hospitality, The Karma Group, The Royal Hotels Group, The Marvan Group, Bombay Sapphire, The Be Hers Charity Group.
Senior Producer for the Smirnoff Activation at Splendour In The Grass, managing the business and events for Chef Aaron Teece, Studio Neon as well as operating as Events Producer for the Sunday Sous Sessions series which sees four hatted Sous Chefs create their own 5 course degustation with no boundaries.
With a strong belief that quality trumps quantity, Lauren’s success to date has been guided by her keen curiosity in travel, culture, food and people Lauren has an Advance Diploma in Journalism & PR and a Diploma in Events Management.
